Allenby was selected to host one of the launch events for the Year of Engineering 2018 last week and we were fortunate to be visited by Lord Lucas and Minster for Transport John Hayes CBE. Also forming part of the day were volunteers from the world of engineering from all over the UK. We had the lead engineer from Aston Martin who came all the way from Coventry, bringing with him his £200,000 car. Also joining us were engineers from the Navy, Formula 1 Team Renault and Satellite Designers to name but 3 of the 25 we had on the day. The children spoke with the volunteers about their jobs and the importance of working hard at school so that one day they too can gain your dream job!
